Local residents approached the council here to discuss an ordinance, donating land and creating a subdivision at its monthly meeting on July 6.
Mike Saxby asked members of the Reeves Council to reconsider the age of a trailer brought into the village by changing Ordinance 1-2018, which regulates transportation and use of mobile homes in the village and recreational vehicles as dwellings. He asked the council to change the age from 10 to no older than three years in age. No action was taken.
Kelvin Rion was informed he would have to contact members of the Ward Three Recreation Board when he asked to donate land for parking near the district’s park.
Rion also asked Mayor Chris Guillory for a heavy weight permit and was denied. He informed the council he had land on Rodeo Pen Road and planned to create a subdivision with 37 lots on a 28-foot acre plot. The mayor said a drainage study and other information would have to be forwarded to the council for review.
Rion asked that limbs around town, especially on Lyles and David roads, be trimmed, so they would not damage his trucks.
In other business, the council voted to adopt an ordinance to amend the budget for fiscal year July 1, 2019, to June 30, 2020. They also adopted an ordinance for the budget set for the present fiscal year which began July 1, and will end June 30, 2021.
The village will begin mailing letters to property owners in the village as a reminder to clean-up their property.
