Local attorney Chad Guidry announced today that he will be a candidate for district judge of the 33rd Judicial District Court in the November 3, 2020, election. His announcement follows:
Mr. Guidry is seeking to fill the vacancy that will be left by retiring Judge Joel G. Davis.
“I’ve dedicated my professional adult life to practicing law in and serving the people of Allen Parish, and I look forward to bringing my knowledge and courtroom experience to the 33rd Judicial District as judge,” said Guidry. “The 15 years of experience that I have representing real people has taught me that a district judge’s first priority and responsibility is to ensure that the judicial process will be effective, efficient and above all fair to everyone. I share your strong conservative values, and vow to follow the law and never legislate from the bench. I am 100 percent pro-life, pro-gun and pro-family. I have the experience, temperament, and energy to do this job and I humbly ask for your support on November 3, 2020.”
Guidry is a long-time resident of Allen Parish and a graduate of Kinder High School. After high school, he attended McNeese State University and graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in finance. In 2004, Guidry earned his law degree from Loyola University in New Orleans and immediately returned home to begin serving the people of Allen Parish as an attorney.
Guidry has been married to his wife, Kari Garner Guidry, for over 15 years, and they have been blessed with two wonderful sons, Hudson (13) and Monroe (11). Chad and his family are active parishioners at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Kinder. Chad is a member of the Rotary Club, the Knights of Columbus, and the Kinder and Oakdale Area Chambers of Commerce. He also volunteers to serve as the chairman of the board of the directors for the Allen Parish Hospital Service District 3 and as a member of the board of directors for the Allen Action Agency.
Guidry has been in private practice with his wife, law partner, and best friend, Kari, for the past 15 years. He also currently serves as the town attorney for the village of Reeves and is the Allen Parish District Defender. Chad is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts and the U.S. Federal Courts for the Western District of Louisiana. Guidry has handled thousands of cases over his 15 years of legal and courtroom experience. He has handled cases in virtually all areas of the law including: probate, successions, family law, custody, child support, alimony, personal injury, property law, boundary disputes, criminal law, adoptions, sales, and leases. Guidry concluded: “I feel that my diversified civil practice and extensive experience in criminal and juvenile matters uniquely qualifies me to serve as district judge.”
