In a bit of encouraging news the community rallied around the employees last Friday to show their love and support.
Last Friday community members along with federal employees from FCC Pollock gathered at the parking lot of the new Christ Church building and the girls softball field located on Whatley Road (directly from the Oakdale prison) to show support to the employees of FCC Oakdale.
At shift change as the employees passed driving either to or from work they were greeted with people waving, praying and holding signs to show the love and support of the essential employees who are working in the trenches of this epidemic.
Union President Ronald Morris said, “We appreciate the support from the community as well as from the Pollock staff and the local churches who were involved.”
The prison staff have also received deliveries of flowers, food and gifts from local businesses who have wanted to show their support to those who have to be in the line of danger.
