Even though many entities saw drops in sales tax collections for the month of March 2020 Allen Parish’s collections as a whole increased 11.95 percent or $112,367.55. The parish collected $1,052,591.41 for March of 2020 and $940,223.92 in March of 2019.
The three entities that saw an increase in collections were The Allen Parish School Board No. 1 and No. 2, the Town of Elizabeth and the City of Oakdale.
APSB No. 1 and No. 2 collected $371,637.10 in March of 2020 which was $164,242.33 or 79.19 percent more than their $207,394.77 collections in March 2019.
The Town of Elizabeth collected $5,947.88 for March of 2020. This is $387.30 or 6.97 percent more than the $5,560.58 in March of 2019.
The City of Oakdale collected $93,062.08 which is $2,778.28 or 3.08 more than the $90,283.80 collected in March 2019.
All other entities collecting saw decreases. APSB No. 3 collected $186,183.39 for March 2020. This is $12,887.31 or 6.47 percent less than last year’s $199,070.70.
The Allen Parish Police Jury collected $130,328.88. This is $9,020.57 or 6.47 percent less than March 2019’s collections of $139,349.45.
The Town of Kinder collected $36,499.83. This is $11,488.85 or 23.94 percent less than last year’s collections of $47,988.68.
The Town of Oberlin collected $13,897.40 which was $321.32 or 2.26 less than the $14,218.72 collected in 2019.
The Town of Kinder Library/Sewerage tax collected $10,949.94 for March of 2020. This is $3,446.64 or 23.94 less than the $14,394.58 collected in March 2019.
The Allen Parish Occupancy Tax collected $3,972.62. This is $428.30 or 9.73 percent less than the $4,400.92 collected in March 2019.
The Allen Parish Tourist Commission collected $11,917.76 for March 2020. This is $1,285 or 9.73 percent less than the $13,202.76 collected in March 2019.
The Allen Parish Sheriff District collected $186,183.47 for March 2020. This is $12,887.25 or 6.47 percent less than last year’s collections of $199,070.72.
The Village of Reeves collected $2,011.12. This is $3,275.12 or 61.96 percent less than March 2019’s collections of $5,286.24.
