‘Stay at home’ governor says

Posted on April 2, 2020

Governor John Bel Edwards issued a stay-at-home order asking residents not to leave except to go to the grocery store or pharmacy to pick up medicine.
Today, April 2, is Day 10 of that order. He is hoping the number or cases of COVID-19 and deaths will begin to taper down as we practice social distancing and follow the stay-at-home order.
Our hospitals are near capacity, so he has asked people to stay at home if they are sick unless they are having problems like breathing. Then he encourages residents to seek medical attention immediately.
When the numbers are put into a graph, as in the above one, persons can see how fast this virus is moving through Louisiana residents.
Remember if you have questions, call the statewide information line at 211. Operators will have information to assist residents in finding assistance for food, medical, mental health, etc. Be sure to follow the news and remain safe and healthy by washing your hands and practicing social distancing.
