The Kinder City Council met Thursday, March 19, to reset its April meeting, which is normally held on the first Monday of the month.
Due to the governor’s proclamation associated with COVID-19, the council agreed to move the April meeting to Monday, April 20. Latoya Tunwar was the only councilmember to enter a vote against moving the meeting. Councilman Chris Fontenot was unable to make the meeting but did listen to it by phone.
The council also rescheduled the zoning board hearing set for April 6. The meeting will be moved to April 20.
Councilwoman Angie Van Norman inquired if Kinder had to do anything to receive any community funding associated with the virus if it became available. Mayor Wayland LaFargue said no. The governor’s proclamation took care of that for the town.
