An Allen Parish School Board employee is facing theft charges after funds at Reeves High School went missing.
On Friday, February 7, the Allen Parish School Board reported the missing funds to the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office. Investigators learned the school board had discovered an excess of $1,500 missing from the Reeves High School finances.
An investigation conducted by the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office disclosed that Lori Leigh Breaux was responsible for the Reeves High School bookkeeping, and she was the person who had control of the missing monies. Breaux was responsible for making the bank deposits of the monies.
An arrest warrant was issued in the 33rd Judicial District Court charging Breaux, 46, of Reeves, with theft (between $750 and $5,000.)
On Tuesday, March 10, Breaux turned herself into the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office and was arrested for the outstanding arrest warrant. Breaux was released from the Allen Parish Jail after posting a $7,000 bond.
