The Kinder Yellow Jackets placed multiple players on the District 5-2A girls and basketball teams.
Kinder senior guard Brooklyn Fontenot received first-team honors and was named MVP after averaging 21.8 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists per game in District 5-2A play this season.
Joining Fontenot on the first-team are teammates Tanyjah Plumber and Tyja’Nae May. Plumber, a sophomore guard, averaged 13.5 points and 4 rebounds per game while May, a junior forward, averaged 16.9 points and 8 rebounds per game.
Hadley Lemons earned honorable mention honors and was selected to the All-Defensive Team.
Kinder’s Natosha Dowies meanwhile was selected as the Coach of the Year.
The Kinder boys team meanwhile picked up some all-district honors as well.
Trystan Pope was placed on the second-team, Grant Cooley received honorable mention honors and Deontua Fontenot was selected to the All-Defensive Team.
