The village council met Monday night, November 11, and adopted two ordinances it has been discussing for the past few meetings – amendment to its weight limit ordinance and a smoke free ordinance.
The amendment to the weight limit will require a security bond when traveling inside the village.
The smoke-free ordinance affects all buildings in the village and requires smokers to stay 15 to 20 feet back with a lit cigarette. When attending an event at the park, designated areas for smokers will be in place. Outside events held at the park, there will be no smoking. Residents will begin seeing signs posted soon.
Katie Rozas gave a presentation on Aflac. The council agreed to pay $30 toward a policy bought by an indivdual.
A new village sign was installed recently.
Rodeo Pen Road, which had been identified earlier in the year as damaged by dump truck utilizing it was discussed. A bid estimated at $10,500 was received to asphalt. It was agreed to asphalt the west and south ends of the road. the estimated repiars will be split three ways. The mayor will be speaking with one of the parties to see if this is feasible and report back.
The council did go into executive session to discuss a town matter dealing with property. No coment was mad.
