Kenjabruch, which operates in Elton and Kinder, was recently recognized as one of the top dealers of the Bad Boy Zero Turn mower nationwide.
Onwer Kenneth Bruchhaus said his business has been selling Bad Boy Zero Turn mowers for nine years. Many of his customers return once a year or every two years to upgrade their mowers. He said they either want the new bells and whistles on the model or they wanted a different model or bigger mower. He tries to keep 65 to 90 mowers on his showroom floor during mowing season.
Bruhhaus likes this company, which he said was started by one man about 17 years ago. The mower’s name has now become number one in the nation for the last eight years. There are 802 dealers in the U.S. and mowers are sold across the world.
Kenjabruch was recently recognized by the company with one of its highest awards. They received a diamond-plus award for sales making them among 1.2 percent of dealers given this honor. There were 11 at the convention in Dallas, Texas, which was held September 29, to October 2, 2019. Kenjabruch was named number one in Louisiana and in the top five in the nation.
Bruchhaus said he brought all nine of his salespersons with him to the convention, so they could celebrate. He said awards are given for silver, gold, platinum, platinum-plus, diamond and diamond-plus. They knew they had made the diamond category for their sales, but they did not know where they would fall. His company made the top five with the most sales.
Bruchhaus said his group sold 230 mowers last year. The previous year resulted in 110 sales. He said there are 56 different models in this line. They offer sales, service and financing and have one of the largest stocks to choose from in the area.
The Bad Boy Zero Turn mower was built in 2002 and showed at the Lawn and Garden Expo in Louisville, Kentucky, according to its website. It was named the Product of the Year and began signing dealers three years later in 2005. The idea for this mower was conceived in a garage by Phil Pulley and Robert Foster who began tinkering with a prototype. Then Bad Boy expanded to a 20,000 square-foot facility in Batesville’s Industrial Park in Arkansas.
The group started with 20 employees and has grown to 700 and now exits across 105 acres and almost a million square foot of facilities.
Kenjabruch opened in Elton in 1992, and in Kinder in 2000.
