According to the September 2019 Sales Tax Collection Report Allen Parish School Board No. 1 and No. 2 are still falling short in collections compared to 2018.
This shortage is a result in the loss of the tax collections earlier this year due to the tax not being renewed on time.
The APSB No. 1 and No. 2 have collected $2,781,491.20 this year. Last year at this time they had collected $3,978,003.08. That is a drop of $1,196,511.88 or 30.08 percent.
The only other entity that saw a decrease for September 2019 was the Town of Oberlin. They collected $143,869.53 this year compared to last year’s $148,012.21. That is a drop of $4,142.68 or 2.8 percent.
All other entities in Allen Parish saw an increase in collections for the month of September 2019.
APSB No. 3 has collected $2,037,948.86 so far in 2019. At this time last year they had collected $1,988,298.58. That is a small increase of $49,650.28 or 2.5 percent.
Allen Parish Police Jury increased from $1,391,804.20 last year to $1,426,564.96 this year. That is an increase of $34,760.76 or 2.5 percent.
The Town of Kinder has collected $433,806.49 that is $18,735.89 more than last years $415,070.60. The saw an increase of 4.51 percent.
The town of Elizabeth saw an increase of $25,332.09 for the month of September. They collected $73,817.20 this year compared to last years $48,485.11. That is a 52.25 percent increase.
The City of Oakdale collected $993,807.40 this year compared to last year’s $932,353.46. That is an increase of $61,453.94 or 6.59 percent.
The Town of Kinder Library/Sewerage Tax collected $130,142.17 as of September 2019. They collected $124,521.36 last year, so they saw an $5,620.81, or 4.51 percent increase.
The Allen Parish Occupancy Tax increased from $44,232.81 to $47,315.06 for a $3,082.25, or a 6.97 percent, increase.
The Allen Parish Tourist Commission increased by 6.97 percent from $132,698 last year to $141,944.99 this year. That is an increase of $9,246.99.
The Allen Parish Sheriff District saw a 2.42 percent increase from collecting $1,988,278.09 last year to collecting $2,036,455.67 this year. That is an increase of $48,177.58.
The Village of Reeves collected $19,313.24 more this year than the $27,840.38 they collected in 2018. They have seen an increase of 69.37 percent by collecting $47,153.62 as of September 2019.
